What is OlliOlli World?

Developed by Roll7 and published by Private Division on February 8, 2022. It’s available to play on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

OlliOlli World is a skateboarding platforming game where the goal is to make as many back-to-back combos to gather the most amount of points and win the game.

OlliOlli World’s main game mode is a multiplayer system where you compete against other players scores.

The animation was smooth and responded sharply to my every movement. The game was quick paced and captured my attention for long periods of time. It was exciting to do cool tricks mid-air with a skateboard and glide across rails.

I think my favorite part of the game was its bright, calming visuals. The color palette of the background expertly contrasted with the foreground visuals. It made it easy to differ between areas where you could skate and where you could not skate, which is great for colorblind accessibility. The colors itself were very vibrant and exuberant, giving the game a very upbeat feel. Their characters were super customizable and you had the freedom to dress them however you want. You can tell the developers really put their heart and soul into making this video game.

Another tidbit that I really liked, was that the game supports a number of supported languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese. Since I had just recently wrote an article on Duolingo, this was a nice thing to see.
